		<description>I haven&#039;t actually lost weight, sadly, despite going from zero activity a day to an hour of cardio and weight training a day.  My knee problem arose after I started my gym programme and my tendons got out of step with my muscle development.  My physiotherapist (Aaron, who is now my trainer as well) gave me certain exercises to do that built up the little muscles in and around the knee joint, increased flexibility in the tendons and developed the hamstring muscles.  I still have some stiffness but no pain any more.

I imagine that if you have been told you need surgery, you really need it, and exercise and weight loss will help but won&#039;t cure the problem.  If it&#039;s difficult to find exercise you can do without pain, maybe you need some advice?  How about swimming?
